HI
Yes still attend. There is a factsheet for an interview under caution on https://www.advicenow.org.ukThe Cabbage
Its Advice - Take it or Leave it:D0 -
Yes, you need to attend, as interview under caution means they want to investigate something to do with your claim.
It could be something or nothing, but you do need to go.

Seek legal representation or have a chat with a criminal solicitor before you attend.0

You are under no obligation to attend, it is purely voluntary and they are only asking you to attend to obtain information to assist with prosecution.
Most solicitors will advise you ignore them and let them ask the police to investigate if they feel there is a case for prosecution as if the police arrest, you then have a right to legal representation.
You do not at this.Be happy...;)0 -

Thank you for your reply's, having read them and doing further research it
would be best not to go as i would need to spend money for legal rep.
If the dwp believe i have a case to answer then they can have me arrested
at which point i can get free advise and disclosure on whatever matters they feel i have to answer for.0 -

What are you on about.
They will already have the evidence and the police do not investigate on behalf of the DWP nor do they prosecute on behalf of the DWP.
Most solicitors will not tell you to ignore them and you always have a right to legal representation, just not always free if not under arrest.
The only part that's correct, is that it is voluntary, however DWP policy is that if you do not attend then they will generally prosecute from the outset.
Most solicitors give 30 mins free advice so would look at that or CAB.
Do not ingore as you may then end up with a criminal conviction that could possibly have been avoided if you are sure you have done nothing wrong.0 -
I would go - if you don't clear up whatever the problem is, it will affect any future claim, to sny benefit, and, if you are guilty of nothing, it makes sense to go.
You don't actually need a solicitor, you can just take someone with you.

That's a really informative site, I've not seen that article before."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0
