I am 50 on the 18th and want to do something special/memorable. I am in a wheelchair so that has to figure into it. has anyone celebrated something recently that they would recommend as a day/evening event. I know with money how it is with everyone at the moment that celebrating anything involving cash is difficult. but that just means needing to think out of the box. trouble is I am out of ideas in or out of a box lol

Arrange a flying lesson? (OK you're in a chair, but there *are* adapted planes.)
Go for a sidesaddle riding lesson? (Slightly depends on your balance,
but once you're in the saddle, you should be solid!)
If weather permits, have a picnic in the park? (Pick one with a bandstand so you have a dry-ish spot to retreat to!)
Go to a historic site or museum that has dressing up stuff (or a place to change into time appropriate fancy dress) & take plenty of cameras. (And eat in their cafe or everyone bring a picnic platter...)
Do something utterly different, and/or do something with a passel of family & take plenty of photos to laugh over!0 -

Many happy returns for your special day in advance.
Depending on how active you want to be it could be almost anything. What sort of interests do you have?
How about:
A trip to the West End to a show, with a meal in Chinatown first. Afternoon tea at a fancy hotel
A lesson in clay pigeon shooting/archery- both can be adaptable for wheelchair users. Archery may require the arm rest of your chair to be removed (if this is possible?) or they may offer cross bows instead.
Red Letter Days website has lots of ideas such as a tour of Wimbledon and lunch, glass blowing.

Roughly how many friends are sharing your day with you? I noticed you were thinking of money for yourself and others.0

Best wishes for a fab day in advance. A couple of questions to narrow it down. How many would be celebrating with you?, budget?, where are you based and distance you are willing to travel? What sort of days out interest you?I am 50 on the 18th and want to do something special/memorable. I will report back afterwards with any recommendations0
