Buying Road Tax With A Credit Card

Hi all,
I would like to ask a quick question before I buy road tax for my car from the post office. Does anyone know if when buying road tax on a credit card (Virgin or Egg) from the post office i will be charged the higher rate of interest for cash or the standard rate for purchases? I know that there is a £2.50 charge levied by the Post Office but I'm willing to pay that. Hope someone can help with my query. Thanks

I've paid by credit card online for Road Tax and it was treated as a standard purchase. This space has been intentionally left blank0

In April I was told I by the PO I could only pay by debit card, not credit. They said CC was only accepted online, not in the PO themselves.0
