RIP Winnie

Woke up this morning to discover my little buddy Winnie (rabbit ) had passed away during the night... only 3 years old.

Dont know what went wrong, but i had bought a bag of rabbit food last night, and instantly thought was it the food, thankfully, my other bunnies were all alive and kicking, however my dog Jester who loved his pal, and regulary slept against his cage will be devasted.....

Enjoy Bunny island....

Photo 3 (right) Jester Sleeping against Winnies cage.

I brought Spud, one of my female rabbits indoors, as Jester was upset that Winnie was no longer there. plus her cage is in need of replacement. He can so tell its a different rabbit, he loved his wee pal!

I used to have laminate down in the living room, and Winnie used to love biting onto the bars and shaking the cage,,,, when we had laminate, we would come in the morning, and Winnie had managed to shake the cage that much the cage was at the opposite end of the living room..... always wanted out, even though she got out in the barden every day to see the other rabbits and have a run about.

Aww the little monkey!! I have a cage rattler at the moment. I can just imagine him scooting around the room in his cage if we had laminate. Thank you for sharing this memory and photo. :)

(And just incase anyone thinks I'm being cruel keeping him caged when he so clearly wants letting out - I think it's because he wants to get at his lady friend, which we're going through the process of bonding).
