Scs delivery early

Options
Hi there, I was hoping someone could tell me where I stand with this issue please?

On 27th December, my husband and I purchased a sofa from SCS and told it'll be delivered in 6 weeks, 'once it arrives we will call to arrange delivery' they said.

On Wednesday 29th January, they called me on my mobile at lunch time to say it had arrived in warehouse and to contact the store to arrange delivery. They then called my husband at home and said the same thing. On both occasions we said we would be come into store at the weekend to arrange it. At 730 that night, I got another call from them saying that the sofa had arrived at store, I again said we would be in to arrange at weekend.

On Thursday 30th, I got another call. I explained again that we would be in at the weekend to be told that 'it needs to be arranged now' I said it wasn't suitable as my husband works shifts and we would have to figure something out. She said it needed to be out of the store with 7 days of it arriving. I pointed out that it was 2 weeks early, she said the dates quoted were approximates and it needs to be done and said she would arrange for Wednesday, I said no. By this time I was fuming, I said I don't have time to deal with it today and we would be in at the weekend, said goodbye and waited for her to say goodbye and end the call.

Tomorrow I will be going into store. Being pregnant I'm going to let my husband deal with it all.

Problem is, my husband works in theatre at hospital and his shifts are up and down, I work 9-5 Monday to Friday. We had arranged 2 weeks off in just over a weeks time, the first to decorate the living room and lay carpet, the second to receive the sofa and now I'm regretting doing any of it. Does anyone know where I stand legally? I don't want to and know I can't cancel it but it's looking like I might have to take an emergency holiday or sick day to receive this.

I had a look at the SCS delivery terms and conditions and they state:

"We'll fulfil your order within the relevant delivery lead time (in days or weeks) we give you. However please note that all delivery lead times we quote are approximate only.

We can't normally store products at our ScS distribution centres for longer than 7 working days following receipt.

Once your product has been delivered to an ScS distribution centre, they will ring to arrange delivery. Where possible we will deliver within 2 working days".

    It also states that:
If your product has to be redelivered, there may be an additional redelivery charge. So probably best if you take the day off work to receive the sofa.

So its not set in stone, ask for an exception. They are the ones who put normally in their terms..

I've managed to get it stored for an extra few days and will work something out. Thanks.
