    I have 6:

    N&P
    Santander 123
    Lloyds Vantage
    Lloyds student
    Nationwide FlexDirect
    HSBC

I have Coop, First Direct and Halifax in my sights but I'll need to open dummy account(s) to claim the switching bonuses!

I think the maximum I've had at a single time is 9. Right now I have 8 but two of those are pointless and I'll close them when I can be bothered, and another one is dormant.

Ironically, the HSBC account has been sitting at -£500 overdraft for the last 3 years, with £500 in a savings account.

I think the last transaction on the account was 2 years ago.

    They've never said anything.
  • Aren't all these current accounts reporting on your credit files and making things look a bit odd?

A bit odd in what way? I have seen credit files with well in excess of 20 current accounts and they didn't look odd to me.

I thought you meant that you only had 1 student account rather than that you lied to the bank lol!

    Between my partner and I we have;

    3 x Nationwide Flexdirect (was 7)
    3 x Santander 123 accounts
    2 x First Direct
    5 x Lloyds Vantage
    2 x BOS Vantage
    2 x TSB Enhance
    2 x Halifax Reward

There's 19 current accounts but I'm just about to open two co-op accounts for the £100 switching bonus.

How can you get the 2 co-op accounts?

I suspect the answer lies in the first line of the post you quoted! ;)
