What can I do now ?

Options
I have sent off at least 10 old agreements ( from your template) to see if I have any miss sold PPI. 1 has come back ( HSBC ) saying that they destroy all paper work after 6 years and as my account was closed more than 6 yrs ago they cant help ? Can I take this further ?

Another one has come back this morning saying no monies are outstanding on the account and the account is now closed so they have no obligation to supply information under section 77/79 of the customer credit act 1974 but they do confirm PPI was taken out ? Where do I go from here

I sent HSBC a letter last year re a graduate loan I had taken out. I explained that I clearly remembered the lady telling me it would help my application, and the reasons why I didn't need it. I had a good job which paid a full year's sick pay, lived with parents so had no mortgage or bills, and was working for a company which operates under a no compulsory redundancy policy.

I took the loan in 1999 and settled it in 2004.

Within a couple of weeks I had an offer.

    I had no paperwork

You only need paperwork if the Bank no longer have records. Clearly they still had your records, so your experience is not relevant to the OP.
