bank statements for credit check

Hi
Sorry if this isn't the right forum...
I've been asked to supply three months of bank statements for the credit check to rent a flat. My question is: can I give them a short version of the statements - just money in and out for each month, as opposed to a detailed list of my transactions? I feel that's pretty private info! What's the protocol here?
Cheers!

You don't need to provide them with anything, but obviously if you want to rent from them then it makes sense to try to comply.
The short version statements - do these list every receipt and every payment or just 2 totals for the month?
If you send anything I would black out any personal information (so account number etc) and also black out details of the transactions (so they still see all the transactions but not who you paid money to).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks Tixy
Yeah, that's a good idea re blacking out transactions. I think I might be able to do just a 'money in' online statement and print that out together with the monthly 'money in and out' figures at the top. I guess if they need any more info, they'll ask for it...0
