Hotmail Hyjack

My friends have told me that my hotmail has been sending them spam emails with a link.

I have looked at my sent items and there is no unauthorised emails there, I googled what I should do and the general advise is to run a virus checker and change the password.

However I rarely use my home computer for hotmail, I normally use my Ipad or work PC (which is very secure), I can't run a virus checker for my work PC. I have no contact details, so am not sure how they got them - in fact some of the email addressese are not in my contact list?

I have changed my password, but it is still happening, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

In most cases somebody else is sending these emails from an infected PC. The sender's email address can be easily faked and the infected PC most likely belongs to someone you both know and has both of your addresses in his/her address book.

Don't just change the password, but also the security question.
