  • Ah well that's not very good!

I spent £40 last night which will do me until my statement comes on the 9th.

How many days from the statement do they allow before making a payment?

    Thanks again.

You can make a payment whenever you like as long as you have a balance

Without having to pay the hefty interest I meant. ;)

They're only interested in the date they get it not the date you initiated the payment. Leave plenty of time between paying and the due date. If you check your account online after making a payment you will notice there is a day or two delay, only once it shows on the account will they consider it paid.
Is this the case with every credit card?

Honestly don't know, I suspect it will depend on individual card companies and how quickly they process payments and apply them to your account, Aqua seem to do the same as vanquis (my wife has one of their cards).

A payment made on the 1st of the month appears online on the 3rd but shows the payment date as being the 2nd so presumably this is down yo the system updates.
  • This is the first time I've ever had a credit card so just to be absolutely sure....

If I pay off my current balance of £40 off on the day I get my statement, I won't have to pay any interest at all, just the £40?

    Thanks again.

Correct. (As long as the £40 is all purchases, and not cash or cash-like purchases, eg gambling.)
