Cooperative bank account Fraud

Today noticed a debit on my account for Tesco Mobile top up £30

I don't have a tesco phone, so called up the bank..passed through to Fraud and they have cancelled my card and refunded me the money.
I also had a hit of £1.80 from US that they had picked up and stopped..

so thankfully all sorted and not been totally cleaned out of all my hard earnt cash :eek:

Just thought I'd share, I check my bank very regularly, so keep an eye out for any unusual activity

I had the exact same two transactions fraudulently taken from my account with Natwest a couple of weeks ago for the same amounts - I haven't got a Tesco Mobile either.

I've had a call from my credit card company about this.

Sounded suspicious, but I called them back on a number I knew was correct and, after going through some security questions, they confirmed it was them that were calling me earlier to advise me of the fraudulent action on my account. They even sent a nice courier round to collect the affected cards from me ... now that's what you call service :T

Alas, it's what I call a much-publicized scam. Phone your real card company now.

For any one else reading this, Banks don't collect compromised cards, they just cancel them. Please see the link above.
