Critical illness Insurance

Options
Hi All
Just wanted a bit of advice . I took out a few buy to let mortgages with lloyds tsb 8 years ago. as part of the deal i was strongly pushed into buying life insurance and critical illness insurance with scottish widows.
I was made to feel it was almost a condition that i had to take out critical illness and life insurance to get the mortgages.
I took out 3 policieswhich im still paying .
Just wondered if this would come under the ppi complaints .
any advice welcome
thanks

The seller is allowed to "disturb" the purchaser in this way so that the importance of such cover is emphasised. Clearly it was not a condition, but (by your own admission) you weren't told that it was.

Payment Protection Insurance is not Critical Illness or life insurance cover, so no.

Right, so that statement verifies you were not mis-sold on the advice process. So that is good.

life and CI plans are not PPI. Totally different products and Lloyds retailed them differently as well. Life & CI was done under an advice process using an individually regulated individual and PPI was done under a sales process using an unregulated individual.
