Job Centre Sending People to Scam Jobs

I am thinking of phoning the job centre and saying 'you sent my son to an interview, I googled it and its coming up as a scam
If your son was 16 or 17 this might not be a bad idea, but he's 24!
I think the time is long overdue for you to ask your son why he gets the interview but not the job. You say he is quiet and shy, can you not help him to project his personality and enthusiasm.
Being "on the scrap heap at 24" is a phrase he should be fighting to disprove. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
There are a many different definitions of "marketing" jobs.
To right !!! why is it just because it is sales orientated the business man/woman must be a crook! and like it is something to be ashamed off
OP, I'm not the loudest but certainly got a lot more confident thanks to sales/marketing type roles, I started a telemarketing job start of January, it didn't last but not for the want of trying BUT can I say in the business owner's defence we were NOT mis-treated (so far from it) anyway, to prove these business owners do the right thing, I received a pay cheque last few days despite upping and serving no notice because he had to do the "right thing" when it come to redundancies served to what was my co-workers, he also wrote me the nicest letter, I might be talking gibbish but lord it served me well when I had nothing and I know who I would give a hug to right now - IN FACT I've only ever received compassion and HIGHEST moral standards from these types of employers
I would chose a perceived awful sales/telemarketing/telesales employed job anyday of the week over JSA, even if it was just part time
Every job has targets!!! and nobody is near far from the push no matter what line of work your in!
Everybody is in it for the money and has to be pushed - how does a company survive?
PS All my 6 interviews this week were for sales/marketing roles and 2 next week, see everyone is turning to this because it pays, either that maccie dee's or local care home so there is choice to be had - if your son is made redundant if sales business doesn't work does he not get to claim again?0 -
If the job does not meet NMW he does not have to take it and won't be sanctioned. That includes self employed jobs.0

I'm not really going to do that. Anyway, its up to him to decide what to do. They have not offered him the job yet as he had to leave the assessment day at lunchtime because he had a music event to organise. This event has been booked for some time and it is his responsibility to organise the bands that he has booked. He's got them all to do the gig for free drinks and food so its not bad. Its for a company party. So he is going to see if they contact him again. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
What does that say about your advisor ?Wolfie1877 wrote: »Is Search Job Vacancies a scam, I thought it was but when I asked at the JC my advisor told me that it wasn't a scam
Did he checkout the same jobs listed multiple times all over the country by this company. When did your advisor ever use UJM to search & apply for jobs ?
Did he bother to check ANYTHING other than palm you off with some guff ?
The Jobcentre, advisors, people who run UJM don't care.
Advisors will say anything to keep system running, tick the boxes & not cause themselves trouble or aggravation.0 -
Tell him to sit down at the interview and stop them dead in their track mid splurge and inform them he will only work for signed contracted hours on minimum wage.
No self employment.Be happy...;)0 -

Sorry but why should he be leaving an assessment day for something that is voluntary, think he has his priorities wrong here, whether it is a job he wants or not or min wage or self employed.
He is 24 as well, why are you running around going to phone the job centre no wonder he is shy and unable to come out of his shell0 -
The advisors are there to advise on every available opportunity and the job seeker has a commitment to explore those opportunities. If they turn out to be unsuitable the jobseeker should inform their advisor of whay they've done, what the outcome is and produce evidence just as they would with any other application. What does that say about your advisor ?

All this constant advisor bashing is neither helpful or correct and you're talking nonsense again.
We've already established you don't know what you are talking about.0 -
