Network q warranty/garage mistake
I recently took my Vauxhall Insignia to a Vauxhall dealer to get a water leak checked out. After 3 days my vehicle was given back to me repaired and no charge as it was covered by Network Q warranty. The dealer has now come back to me and said network Q warranty does not cover bodywork faults and I am going to get a bill for 7 hours labour and parts. Basically the garage didn't check or were unsure if I was covered and carried out the work and gave me the car back. Can they try can claim the repair cost from me. Any advise will be grateful before I get threatening letters.
Many thanks

Call the manager or try and get hold of the dealer principal you had the work done at.
Explain the situation and ask why They think your liable for their mistaken impression that it was covered by warranty and now want you to pay for their mistake.0 -
I assume this is a car you bought from a different vauxhall dealer? If so, suggest the one who did the repair send the bill to the dealer you bought it from.0

Thanks for advice. I'm going to calm down for a day before a go to speak to someone at the garage face to face, as only spoke to repair section on the phone.0

Did they contact you before they commenced the work, confirming the work would be under warranty, i.e. without charge to you?
If so, they I would tell them to sling their hook. They were the terms and it's their mistake.
You could have taken it somewhere else and had the repair done cheaper, if they'd given you the chance. But they didn't.0 -
Did you get any paperwork at all from the garage when you took the car back fixed? Sometimes with warranty work you do, other times you don't. Nevertheless it sounds like their fault if they told you it was warranty work. You as a customer dont know their warranty process inside out, however they should.
I'd be politely telling them where they can stick their invoice. By 'repair section' i presume you mean some kid on the service desk reception? You may do better with the service manager or dealer principal. They'll need to chalk this up as experience and not pursue you for it.0
