Is old cheque book still valid?

I haven't had the need to use my cheque book for about 3 years but need to write out a cheque to post... is this cheque book still ok to use after all this time?

My cheque book is over 10 years old and I wrote a cheque from it a couple of months ago and it went through no problem.
