Banks' websites have numbers for different departments.0
-
The usual procedure in a case like this and the easiest way to track down where the money is is to ask the sender (Facebook in this case) to contact their bank to do a 'trace' on the payment. This will usually produce a result in a few days and locate exactly where the money is. Often it turns up in a bank suspense account as due to some technical reason it has not been possible to pay into the beneficiary account.
100% correct. Facebook will be able to contact their bank to do a trace.urs sinserly,

Yes they do, and International may well be the correct department to contact (although it's not entirely clear from a quick trawl through the Barclays website) but if you don't know that then I still maintain that contacting CS is a better bet than asking in a branch.JuicyJesus wrote: »100% correct. The problem is though that the OP has already said that Facebook consider their part of the transaction has worked OK, and how do you get a giant corporation to do something that they don't want to? (I suppose you could always post on Facebook's Facebook page!).0 -
I'm lost. I look forward to hearing some advice on what to do. Is it my understanding that it's down to my bank to chase this up? I think I read online that it's the payee that has to chase it.
Money will turn up. I've known international transactions to take some considerable time. Depending on the routing of the funds. Worst was 6 weeks.0 -

Facebook seem to have just provided proof that the transaction debited their end. That's not the same as proof that it was credited. They need to contact their bank and ask for a trace, since it doesn't appear they've done this.urs sinserly,

OP, the payment was sent in US$ and to a UK sterling account (so conversion required)? Or do you have a US$ account here in the UK?
If not, can't they pay you in sterling? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
