Capital One - Cashback Error!!!

Has anyone received their January Capital One statement and not received the Annual cashback they were expecting?

My December statement stated my annual cashback total was £15.80, this is normally credited on my January statement each year. I received my statement today and no cashback had been paid. After a one hour call to their call centre it appears that there was a glitch in their computer system in February 2013 and the cashback totals appearing on statements has been wrong since.

They admitted to me that they did not see it necessary to contact customers because they did not know which customers had been affected. Also they said that they would not be giving any customers compensation because the error was being put right now and customers were being paid the correct amount due.

So be careful everyone, you might not be getting back all the cashback which is showing on your statement.

Not good enough Capital One :(

ive always found the cashback to be right from them, but the customer service is dire...at least it is while you are dealing with Mumbai. when you get through to Nottingham, after a good round of complaining, they are great.

not had a card with them for a year now, though.

There is a thread on this elsewhere and the Jan13 statement cashback, which was paid in Jan 13, was added to the April statements after a computer upgrade.

Compensation? For not receiving an additional bonus? They're going to credit the money shortly.

Good grief, what is the world coming to?

tend to agree. if they sort it, and pay you shortly, job done.

if it takes weeks, and several phone calls and a couple of letters, by all means hit them for £100 or so. but if they look after you, that's the end of the matter. just enjoy your cashback and keep generating it:)

Mine was wrong for about 10 months, but correct in the end.
One hour on the phone seems a lot, but if you are bothered about that then put it in a secure message or formal complaint in a letter next time, then you won't have to hang on the phone.
How to deal with it and how you react to it is entirely down to you and I think you've made this worse by deciding to phone them and wanting an immediate answer rather than messaging or sending a letter when it could have been investigated whilst you weren't holding.
