Hi, my daughter has just brought a new asus aspire X200ca netbook, and it came with Office 2013 trial on.
We already have 2010, which we were hoping to put on it, but she has no cd drive to us, she cant download it 2010 from Microsoft because they are only flogging 2013. She cant afford to buy this when she is happy using 2010 and its paid for... is there anything we can do. I sort of hoped that I could copy the cd onto a memory stick and she could then copy it that way. However I'm no techie and cant find it on my windows 8...
Not sure that all make sense but hopefully someone can help

Yes, the licence is transferable to your new PC.
No you can't just copy the installed MS Office off your old one onto the new one.
You need the install image.
You may well be able to get it from digitalriver (Microsoft's download site), using the info at
http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-office-2010-official-direct-download-links/
They should be installable executables, but it can sometimes be a bit of a faff finding if the right one to match your licence is there.0 -
You could always get an external cd drive and use that

Or just download LibreOffice it's free and just as good!My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -
Do you have the genuine office cd and key - if so, you could rip the cd to an .iso image, transfer that to a flash drive and install it0

Sorry - I mis-read.
One option is to share the CD drive from the old laptop and mount it over the network onto the new one.
(Depending upon your licence you may not be allowed to use it on both machines at the same time.)0
