Like a fool I have not used cashback sites until now. Looking in quidco TESCO are mentioned for car insurance. Unfortunately you ave to be a new customer and I'm insured by them already. My question however applies to gas and electric also. Do I use a price comparison site first and get a quote then either use topcashback or quidco and go through them? Thanks

Yes, that's correct - use a comparison site with your expected annual usage in kWhs to see what tariffs are available. (On the last page of inputs ensure you answer "no" to any "show me only tariffs you can switch me to" question).
You should also check what single fuel tariffs cost on the results page not just dual fuel tariffs.
You can then check topcashback and quidco to see whether there are offers for your likely candidates.
