Does loss of status entitle you to redundancy?

Hi
My employer has been taken over by another Company and my job title is changing from Manager to Assistant Manager. I now report to a new Manager who has been slotted in between me and my old boss. My role is unchanged, although I have been unsuccessfully seeking redundancy. Could you tell me if this 'loss of status' in itself, entitles me to redundancy?

Coming from the other side...
This is a very common scenario with restructures.
Your job has gone(it hasn't but pretend)
They propose this is a suitable alternative.
Pay, tasks and location are the same, the slight difference is the reporting structure and job title(they make up a new one).
Very, very very good chance a ET would accept that it was suitable if you turned it down and tried a claim.
Asking to be made redundant sends a message.0
