Barclays overdraft PPI

Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone had any dealings with PPI for Barclays account overdraft.
Thing is, I was having a MAJOR clearout of some files I had in a cupboard and found a letter dated Sept 2007, asking if I was happy with the payment protection insurance on a joint bank account we had with them.
Neither my OH of I can remember ever taking out PPI with Barclays at all.
I called the number on the letter and sure enough after a search, it seems the PPI (to cover unemplyment etc) was indeed on the old account and im my name. As I have not worked in years (full time mum) I explained I wouldnt have asked for it to cover loss of earnings. As I wasnt earning anything. My husband is working, but I am not and had not been in the workplace for almost 18 years due to raising a family.
She was abit at a loss to as why I have it.
Anyway, shes sending me a form to fill in etc. But just thought Id ask on here to see if anyone has any experience of this with Barclays and if they did get any money back.
Thanks for reading

Hi exactly the same happened to me about 3 weeks ago, I found out I had had PPI on an overdraft from 1999 and it was allegedly cancelled by myself in 2011 which I find odd as I had no knowledge of it at all until I rang them up about something completely different.
I was sent a questionnaire which was straight forward to fill in once I had got the policy numbers and dates from Barclays. I was told this week it's at calculation stage so hopefully I will get the money back that I didn't even know I had paid.
Like you I was a stay at home mum for some time and when I was working I would have received full pay for 6 months at least so PPI would not have been required.
Good luck with your claim x0 -
Hi
I recently contacted Barclays about ppi on loans I'd had with them years ago but had not details for. When they looked into it, they could not find the loan details, but were able to find 2 overdrafts I'd had with Ppi on back in 1998. I had no idea about these and said so to the advisor. She logged the complaint and a few days later I had the questionnaires to complete.
I filled these in explaining that both my husband and I had been in secure jobs with full sickness, redundancy and death in service packages and that I would not have needed ppi on the overdrafts.
About a week later I had a call from a complaints handler who asked me about the ppi, what my knowledge had been about it (I hadn't known I'd got it) and also why I felt I'd been miss sold (explained about my employment benefits) all quick and simple over in 10 minutes.
3 days later I received a letter confirming my complaint had been upheld on the one and enclosed a cheque for £300 and the following day the same letter for the other enclosing a cheque for £90. I know this isn't a massive amount compared to some on here, but considering I had no idea about any of it, I'm chuffed0
