energy switching

Just posted on here and dont know where it went? possible delay.
I joined the energy club and entered my details for energy usage, all came back telling me I can save £££££s but the annual amount they compared was supposed to be the deal my current supplier would be charging when my fixed tarriff ended. having contacted my supplier the rate i was quoted was not the same so dont know where the other companies got their info from? difficult to compare if savings are right.
Also some companies say the standing charge is built in the KWH rate ?
As I intend to cut my uasge of energy would it be more advisable to go for a lower Standing charge and higher KWH rate?
