Company credit card

Options
?I have left the company i used to work with and with my role a company credit card was issued, with my name and statements sent to my address - although paid direct by the business.

As i have now left the company have informed me that they will sgtill use the card for the new person in the role but it will still have my name on it and statements will still be coming to my house!

Can they do this? I do not want a credit card that I have no control over being registered at my home address. shoudl i phone the credit card company direct and cancel it if my old employer will not do this?

thanks in advance for any help:beer:

Did you originally sign the credit card agreement? Who is ultimately responsible to the credit card company for any debt on the card?

Anyway, presumably the credit card has your signature on the reverse so I can't see how anyone else can lawfully use it.

I suggest you call the credit card company and explain the situation.

I would write to the CC company and tell them exactly what's going on. Ask them to cancel the card and confirm to you that it has been cancelled.

Your ex-employer may think it's OK to re-use a card but I don't think the CC company will agree.

You won't be able to do that as your company will have a password or pin to access the account ! I may be wrong but I tried it with a company mobile phone and got nowhere.

The OP certainly needs to contact the credit card provider and inform them and get formal acknowledgement of the situation.

The situation sounds odd if not fraudulent and they need to protect themselves, the credit card provider would logically then cancel this card and open a new one for another named individual, if they wanted to deal with his former employer again.
  • If it was me I would cut it up return one half to your employer telling them any post from the credit card company will be sent back to sender.
Keep the other half until it has been sorted out.

You don't need a password to write a letter!

nor do i. i would do the same, but would be calling them without delay too. no way that someone else's card spending should be appearing on statements arriving at your address.
