PPI HELP!! re Santander paymentcare policy

I recently contacted Santander PPI Complaints Team about claiming back Mis-sold PPI when we took out our mortgage in 2008 and have hit a stumbling block. I received a letter saying that the complaint must be investigated by the firm responsible for arranging the PPI and as we used a mortgage advisor our issues have been passed to them and I should hear from them in a few weeks.
We have heard nothing and dispite trying to get in contact with them have heard nothing. My question is really where I go from here as I am not sure how to progress any further?

To make matters worse I have just double checked and the mortgage advisor company was dissolved in 2010
Now I really don't know what to do?

You can refer your complaint to the FSCS as they deal with post Jan 2005 sales where there the firm no longer exists.
However, dont expect to succeed.
1 - the uphold rate at the FSCS against advisers on this is just 5%.
2 - Most MPPI complaints fail as it is a more well regarded product than loan or credit card PPI (covering a major secured long term debt with lifestyle changing consequences if it goes unpaid)
Why do you think you were mis-sold?
