Is it to late to appeal after debt collector letter.

Can anyone help. On the 29th sept 2013. I received a parking charge notice from excel parking when collecting my boyfriend from a course. He was told that if they wanted to park there for the duration of the course then to inform security and give his vehicle registration number. However no one was told what we needed to do if we were collecting someone. I arrived on time to collect but as the course over ran I was in the car park for 29 minutes. As I never left the car I did not thing to inform security or purchase a ticket/ 2 weeks later I received a parking fine from excel parking.

As I initially panicked I appealed this with them. Which as you can guess got rejected. I also contacted the course venue to see if they could do anything and there reply was also no because the money was used towards a charity.

After then reading what I now know to be out of date posts I ignored them and never appealed via POPLA. Now I have a letter from debt recovery plus saying i owe them £149.00. What should be my next move.

I have tried reading similar posts that are more current but have not been able to find what I should do.

Thank you. From what i read on the links it sounds like I should ignore still unless court papers are issued is this correct?

I am really worried about this as I have never had this before.

Of course the sticky FAQs thread is correct & up to date, that's what it's there for at the top of this forum all along.

I assume you read the section about debt collectors and your options which in fact says you could 'robustly respond'? And you certainly would NOT ignore a Notice of Intended Litigation, so keep all the letters in a file, open them all and if they are from DRP or Zenith then no worries.

    DO NOT BIN THEM.

This is Excel who do very occasionally try a small claim so I would edit your first post above to remove all identifiers/location.

And is there someone you can complain to about this harassment (the providers of the course run by North west ambulance service, for example). DO IT.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you I have i actually missed that link but I will send an edited version of the template letter to the Debt recovery people tomorrow. I have already sent a letter to the people that ran the course and the venue of the course but I may submit a complaint this time. Have you any advice on writing said complaint?

I have edited the details in the original post thank you for the advice :)

You really need to read the sticky threads at the top of the forum! I wrote one called 'Successful Complaints about PPCs' and it's right there with dozens of examples of people's successful complaints!
