"Tarmac is £102 per m2, that's to remove base to 250mmbelow finished height, lay new sub base, 80mm of base Tarmac and 20mm oftopping.
Example price for 30m2 (6x5m) £3060
Block paving is £83 per m2, price includes removal ofbase to 250mm below finish height, lay new base of 200mm mot type 1 stone, 50mmsand blinding and to lay blocks in a herring bone pattern. (Standard top stonepavers)
Example for 30m2 (6x5m) £2490"

Probably not helpful, but given the current flooding problems can you not surface your drive some other way that allows water to drain through?
Probably much cheaper as well.0 -

Currently half the area is already tarmaced, the other half is stoned. Prices included taking existing tarmac off (as builder suggested just doing the untarmaced area would make the area look mistmatched).
Yes, cheapest option is actually to do nothing, as I really, really dont need to do it but wanted to, to make the space more parking friendly, neater and more consistant with the rest of the area.
PS my area isn't affected by flooding issues.0 -

Block paving price seems quite high I was quoted nearer to £60 square metre. My drive is bigger and the pavers were pretty basic.0 -
Wondering what current rates are? waiting for a new quote but was quoted £145 per sq m a year ago. For block paving that is.0
