Wii controller problem

We've bought a Wii for the grandkids & for a while everything worked OK.
But now things have started to go haywire.
When the tennis is on the player wont lift the bat to hit the ball.
In baseball the player just stands there with the bat going like crazy.
In the golf you can move the player but the club doesn't move
Bowling seems to work ok.
I've been on the Nintendo site but this problem isn't on it.
We've unplugged & changed batteries but nothing.
Any ideas would be appreciated
