License needed to sell drinks & snacks in a shop?

I'm opening a hobby/craft shop where I'll be running workshops too. I've tried to find out on t'internet whether I need to have a license of any sort to serve tea/coffee/juice and bought cake/biscuits/crisps or if I need any H&S or hygiene training but I can't find anything so turning to you guys for your knowledge.
Thank you!

I don't think you do to serve it, but I think you proably will have to do if you plan to sell it.

Ring your local council, they will be able to tell you

There may be some wonderful grey areas for self-service/honesty boxes or vending machines, FWIW.

  • Remember to advise your insurers, you'll want liability cover just in case anyone claims food poisoning.

Planning would be my first port of call before I'd go anywhere if there's change of use, or the link above if not.

Whilst I know alcohol licensing law (OH runs a licensed premises), I'm not too hot on food licensing (as whilst she's got licenses, I don't know what), so you'll need to speak to the people in link above for that.
