Are you entitled to postage refund? Sports direct are useless!!!

Bought some stuff from sports direct. They use Yodel (or they did this time) who apparently made 3 failed attempts to deliver to my house & left calling cards each time. God knows what house they tried to deliver to but it wasn't mine.
I cancelled the order within 7 days as it was becoming a joke. To add to this joke - Sports Direct said they'd respond within 5 working days. We're now at about 10 working days & still no response from those ignorant XYZs.
After 3 failed attempts it went back to depot for me to pick up. As the depot is about 30 miles out & i'd lost interest, i maintained my cancellation. They could stick the order up their backside, i'll buy elsewhere.
After being at the depot for so long it finally got returned back to SD. Still no response from them mind.
Sure enough they refunded me - but only the item cost, not the postage.
I don't see as it's my fault so therefore don't see why i should lose out. It's not my fault the courier tried the wrong house 3 times or just didn't try at all. Why should i be penalised?
Or does the ruling only cover item cost & i'm out of luck with postage too?

No, they must refund original delivery charges. You may have a struggle on your hands though as SD are rather well known for this sort of thing.
In other words, you may wish to weigh up exactly how much time you wish to spend on this as small claims wont be feasible for the sums involved. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
You are entitled to the postage costs under the Distance Selling Regulations. Keep fighting. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

And small claims will be feasible as long as you exhaust the other avenues.
1) Inform them that they need to refund you under DSRs
2) Should that prove fruitless, then attempt a chargeback for the remainder from your bank/card company
3) Sue them. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
Thanks. I just wanted clarification on whether postage was included in the DSR thing as well. It's only £5 we're talking, but that's really not the point at all. It could be £0.05 or £50.00, the issue is the exact same.
What P'd me off the most is saying they'd respond within 5 days & they just can't be bothered to respond within 10 (or at all!)0 -

By saying it wouldn't be feasible, I was referring to the courts tendency to rule such matters as too trivial to continue/a waste of the courts time. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Why would they "rule such matters as too trivial to continue/a waste of the courts time"?
The claimant pays for the court time, the minimum being £25, and is payable for claims up to £250 (?) then on a sliding scale, so it should not matter that the claim is less than the fee, the courts should do their job and not attempt to put obstacles in the way, I would certainly take court action if a company with the means refuses to obey the law.

People are expected to be reasonable in their behaviour. There are people who view court action over a fiver as unreasonable. £25 is just the filing fee. You also have a hearing fee on top of that (if it gets that far). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

If Sports Direct have a policy of not refunding postage when they legally should then there is probably quite a lot of money in it for them. I would certainly want to take them to court in principle, even though in reality it wouldn't be worth my time.
I guess Trading Standards should look into it though?0 -

Their policy on their site says
SourceWe will refund the price of the goods in full and will reimburse you for the delivery costs you paid except where multiple items have been ordered and not all of them are being returned.
So they're not just falling foul of Distance Selling Regulations, they're not even following their own policy (which does comply to the DSR).Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0 -
Just to update:
I wrote off to them. I quoted their own policy as well as giving them the link to DSR law & told them i want refunding within 10 working days before i begin legal action against them. I also said i want a response in writing to my complaint.
Checked today & they had refunded, but no response from them. In fact i've had no contact from them throughout.
A total joke of a company & based on this i wont be spending a penny in their store or on their website ever again, even if it means spending more on an item.0
