Hi all,
I was made redundant on 31/12/2013 and was due 2 years statutory redundancy pay. However, after notification of the pay and being told it would be processed soonest (via email), there's no record of it being paid so far!
What's a reasonable time frame and is there anything in the law that asks them to pay reasonably quickly?
I was also 3 days short of a full year for a 3rd year redundancy payment, I don't suppose there's any method to appeal since it's calculated on complete years worked?
This is a large higher education institution if that makes any difference whatsoever!

Service for redundancy can be based on a later than termination if there was some statutory notice PILON.
Once the next normal payroll run is passed time to chase up.0 -

It's passed now, so I will ring them.
Unlikely to be PILON, they didn't even know I was entitled to redundancy until I asked for it.0 -
Did you work your full notice?
What was it?
Did they pay the accrued unused holiday0 -

Yes, 3 months. And I couldn't accrue any holiday (fixed term contract dismissal)0 -
You accrue holidays even on fixed term contracts0

I am confused, were you on a fixed term contract? Did you get terminated at the end of the fixed term contract i.e when it was due to expire or before?:jI am an Employment Law Paralegal and an experienced Human Resources Manager and offer my guidance as simply that ... guidance :j0

I have no expertise to contribute, just wanted to say how sorry I am you have been shortchanged of a year's payment because of 3 daysEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Sorry. Yes, I was offered a 3 year fixed term contract but the start date was 4 Jan 2011 and end date 31 Dec 2013. I was terminated at the end of the fixed term contract. So I was short of 3 days for another £450. I have received payment now for the 2 years statutory redundancy.
Fixed term contract at most HE can't be paid any extra holiday left.0
