Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew why I suddenly lost my internet explorer. I also lost the connection to Google on my desktop. Someone advised me to download FireFox which now enables me to use the internet but I am at a loss to know what to do to get back my internet explorer. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks
Thanks

Click on Start/Programs and it should be in there. By downloading Firefox you've most likely replaced IE as the default browser. As soon as you double click on IE it will ask if you wish to make it your default browser. Click on Yes and away you go.0

Open My Computer and go to the following location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\
Right click the 'iexplore' icon and choose Send to --> Desktop (create shortcut)0 -
You've now found your lost explorer, I presume?0

Thanks everyone. I realise that I didn't explain myself properly. The icons for both internet explorer and google are both on my desktop but I cannot open them up. Both appear as if they are going to open when clicked on but then collapse.0

Have you tried to restart your PC ? if you have the spinney thing it should work .0 -
open the start menu and run the following command
iexplore -extoff
Does IE open now? If so then you have installed an addon that is messing with Internet Explorer. The above command starts IE with all addons disabled.0 -
I had the same problem. I had to do a system restore which did the trick.0

It's worth running a sfc to replace any corrupt system files (which may include IE).0

(I'm really upset that nobody even lightly chortled at my post #4!)0
