I bought a new table lamp today which takes an ES screw bulb, on the box it recommended a 42w ES Halogen.
I only have normal 40w ES bulbs and nothing happends at all when I turn the lamp on
I know its not the recommended bulb but surely any ES bulb should work?
Thanks for any help!

Yes, any ES bulb should work. Try another bulb in case it's faulty and you could check the fuse.0
