Voters Roll

Hi,
I am registering on voters roll for the first time. I noticed when registering online it is a really simplistic form. I have also recently changed my name.
I am wondering what, if any, checks are taken carried out after i submit the form to confirm my details. From the looks of it basically anyone can register on the voters roll!! This cant be right can it? Will the council conduct some sort of check i should know about after i submit the form?
The reason i ask is because i dont want any problems as i am trying to rent an apartment soon and will need 'some' history in my new name regardless of the deed poll document.
Thanks

There will be some sort of checks carried out I'm sure. Did it not mention anything on the form. Suppose you could contact you local council and see what they say?0

They will require 2 forms of identification, i you go on your local council's website you should be able to find out what is acceptable on there.
Hope this helps0
