Advice needed please

I'm after some advise please...

I brought a bike in November, in plenty of time for Xmas for my daughter. The bike arrived after two and a half weeks (my email correspondence says 3-5 working days for it to be delivered) and I noticed it was faulty whilst putting it together. Spoke to the company the same day it was delivered and they said they needed to have the bike back to confirm the fault.

After several phone calls/emails I had a date for collection, waited in all day, but no-one came to collect. Again phoned/emailed the company to find out what was happening, eventually was given another date. This went on for a month, 4 days of time spent waiting for collection.

Is it reasonable to ask for 4 days wages in compensation, due to needing to take days off, as they couldn't manage to arrange a collection date properly?

Many Thanks in advance

You can certainly ask, but whether you'll get anything other than say a token amount such as £10 for inconvenience is another matter.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I know it says delivery but same principle. Just remember you are under a duty to reasonably mitigate your losses where possible. For example (in general), by asking them to schedule it on a day you are off or pick it up from your work/a neighbours or ask someone to sit in and wait on the courier.
