Quick question:
I have had a letter from the FO advising that Barclays have agreed my banks account was missold, and a settlement figure.
But - the figure only covers the fees, not the PPI on the overdraft.
Should I press for this too? And what about the exorbitant fees fees when I've gone over my overdraft limit? £22 for bring over by £3.20 fro 1 day!
Or am I being greedy?

Did you complain about the PPI or the account? The two things are different. It would be two different complaints.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

My complaint to the FO was about the account. Should I instigate a separate complaint, bearing in mind Barclays have accepted the miss-selling, the second complaint should be upheld, don't you think?0

The FOS would only have responded to the complaint that you first addressed to the bank, the response to which you were not satisfied with.
Therefore, if you wish to complain about the mis-selling of PPI, you should in the first instance complain to the bank about that.0 -

The two things are not linked. So, it would not be an automatic uphold on the basis that the account type was mis-sold. However, you should raise a new complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. You cannot complain about the level of fees. (well you can but the bank will reject such complaint quoting you the Supreme Court ruling from 2009)
As long as the charges were correctly applied in accordance with the agreed terms/tariff, then there are very limited grounds on which you can realistically ask the bank to consider refunding you... and they are under no obligation to do so.0 -
Thanks guys,
all as I thought!
