Peel Centre Parking Charge

Help needed please!
What's the latest advise to get off the parking charge I've just received?
It was after 7 in the evening (dark) I genuinely didn't know it was pay and display and in any case I didn't leave the vehicle, I just waited outside a shop for my wife as one of the children was asleep in the car.
The ticket was issued because of ANPR cameras.
Thanks in advance

not quite true, the PCN was issued because its a p&d car park and you did not pay for a valid ticket with your reg details on it , verified by EXCEL checking said ticket with the anpr cameras so a pcn is issued in the post
there is no provision on that car park for you to wait for anyone going in a shop on that site , other than the 15 minute parking bays at KFC
that thread linked to in the previous post tells you what you need to know and how to appeal this PCN NTK charge0 -
Hi, sorry, I've read through the examples and none seem to represent my case.
Am I missing the point here. Is it best just to use another strong example?
Cheers0 -
your case is irrelevant , that is why you do not find examples citing it , especially as you did not follow the "rules" on their signage , so yes, you are missing the point here , totally
you will complain on 3 main points, listed below in the soft appeal letter, this will be rejected and so you get a popla code and will appeal with a stronger letter to popla, linked in post #3 of that thread (the umkomaas walk through explains it)
here is your soft appeal letter as RK of the vehicle (not driver)
Dear Excel,
As the registered keeper of (reg) I'm in receipt of your parking invoice xxxxxx dated xxxxxx. I wish to invoke your appeals process as all liability to your company is denied on the following:
1) this charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss
2) your signage does not comply with the BPA Code of Practice
3) you do not have the authority or permission to issue invoices at this location
These points and others will be raised with Popla should you not accept this appeal, and you will be expected to provide a full breakdown of of your alleged loss, and your full unredacted contract with the landowner.
If you do reject the challenge and insist upon taking the matter further I must inform you that I may claim my expenses from you. The expenses I may claim are not exhaustive but may include the cost of stamps, envelopes, travel expenses, legal fees, etc. By continuing to pursue me you agree to pay these costs when I prevail.
Please issue your cancellation within 35 days of this letter or supply a popla code to appeal to them.
Any communication that does not either confirm cancellation or include a POPLA verification code shall be reported to the BPA as a breach of their Code of Practice - the BPA recently issued guidance to all members to remind them of this fact. Such communication may also be deemed harassment and pursued accordingly.

Redx is correct.
You are guilty as charged and have virtually no mitigation to put forward. This is the same for most cases on here. The PPC has "rules" and you broke them - end of story! Well, not quite.
It is game over (against you) if you try to relate your appeal to any of the facts in your case.
What you do is ignore the contravention - no need to mention it at all. You challenge the right of the PPC to levy any charges on you whatsoever.
When you get into that mindset, it all clicks into place.
So, do as Redx says as a first stage. It will get rejected probably, but you will get a POPLA code where one of our forum based appeals will almost certainly get your appeal upheld.
As said, it's all in coupon-mad's thread.0 -

Yes you have missed the point, so far. Just like that poster. She got there in the end!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
