Parking Bay Breach Notice

Hi - First time poster so apologies if this is a repetition.
Just came back to my local train station to find a parking contravention charge notice on my windscreen.
The facts are that BOTH the car parks (there are 2) were completely full so I parked behind a forwards facing vehicle in such a way that I caused no inconvienience to the car in front or indeed caused any problems circumnavigating the car park.
I duly paid my ticket for the parking and went on my train journey.
I left the car at 9am and returned at 3pm (and I should note that all the cars that were there in the morning were still there in the evening)
My question is : Do I have a case to dispute the £75 (reduced to £50 if I pay within 14 days) ?

Thanks - Seems like a lot of info that I'll have to read through.
I'm very annoyed by all this and I find it amazing that I paid to park in a FULL car park (hence giving NCP more money than they would have if I hadnt) and then being given a penaly notice for doing so !0 -
it is definitely a lot of info to wade through, you suddenly have to become an expert on parking issues all of a sudden, same as we all did
