BT Phoneline Install

Hi All,

Hoping to get some advice here as am now completely out of ideas.

I placed an order with BT to install a phone line and BT Broadband to my new build property on Tue 03 Dec 2013 and got an install date of Mon 06 Jan 2014.
The engineer didn't turn up to install the line, and after contacting BT to find out more my install date was moved to 26th Jan. This has now been pushed back again and the ETA is now likely to be mid March, but no-one is sure.
Over the last few weeks I have been in regular contact with BT customer service team, who have been very polite and helpful in keeping me up to date with this issue, however no progress is being made.

Has anyone else had problems like this before with BT? Waiting over 3 months just to get a phone line connected?

After all of this I don't particularly want keep an ongoing contract with BT, but I feel like I have no option as if i were to cancel my order now, I would still have to wait to get connected by BT Openreach if I went with another provider.

Because of the floods and really bad weather accross some of the UK recently the Openreach engineers are overloaded with faults to repair and stretched thin.

They'll be prioritising the engineer work for existing faults as it's deemed more important to fix someone's existing service then provide someone with a new service.

No matter what ISP you go with, if this is the case they all depend on Openreach so the same problem would arise.

    Hi Jrose,

I'm really sorry about the delay and I'll be happy to check on why this has happened if you send over your order details using the contact info that can be found in my profile.

    Thanks

What Neil means is click HERE and type (or copy and paste) all that into a message direct to BT.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
