Which boiler to go for?

We are probably going for a system boiler and have been offered the following boilers by different installers: Gloworm SX30; Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i; Vaillant ECO TEC Plus 637.
The house is a 3 bedroomed property split on 3 levels with an attached garage at the lowest level where we are looking to locate boiler and unvented cylinder.
The above boilers are different prices but we want the best efficiency at the best price. Any suggestions folks?
Thanks.

We had a Vaillant combi for 15 years and only had one problem when the auto air vent started leaking - simple fix. It was still working fine when we moved nearly four years ago.

I've always gone with Valliant over the years whenever I've replaced a boiler. They have always been considered the Rolls Royce of the boiler world, although now Worcester Bosch are a close 2nd.

Is there a difference in the guarantee period of the Valliant & Worcester? Only if there isn't an awful lot of difference in the price, perhaps an extra couple of years guarantee will swing it for you.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • How many radiators do you have?

They sound like overly powerful system boilers for a 3 bedroom house.

I very much doubt you would need anywhere near the 37Kw power of the Vaillant for example.
  • In all there would be 11 radiators around the house as he lounge diner is a large room with open access to kitchen which is unheated. There is a largish area to cover including the garage/utility.
Is there a more suitable boiler for this?

I'm not a heating expert and obviously you need an expert heating engineer to calculate your heating need and heat loss accurately.
Judging by the fact that you've had a few quotes means I assume that you've had a few experts to assess your property. However it is worth noting that some of these experts don't always get it right and put boilers in that are too powerful for a property.

I stand to be corrected but I would say a 24Kw system boiler should be adequate for your property. The 30Kw may be airing on the side of caution but I would definitely say you would not need a 37Kw boiler.
