Yes you will, but presently, the tax man has your money. One hopes he does not keep it to offset a future liability!!catoutthebag wrote: »
1) I will get my money back, not 'hope'. So you're wrong0 -

2 One error that you know about. On the strength of the above I would think it's afair bet that there are more.
3. Given your attitude I would say that uou may have been as much to blame as the accountant. Having said that there are, of course good and bad accountants.
4. Again given the above your statements are highly questionable especially as you managed to submit your return a couple of days before the deadline having had the best part of 10 months to do so and then paid, incorrectly, early.
5 we can all learn from others
1) 'load of help'? Nah mate, the excess will show up online & I hit 'request a refund'. Easy.
2) nah mate. One error is all I've made. My own calculation matched those of Hmrc in previous years. Down to the penny. Perfect
3) blamed for what? Sorry, your gibberish lost me. I used an acc once who came up with the same figure as I did & was no use in helping to reduce my liability
4) all the figures were there, it was a case of entering, so there is no reason to do it in January rather than in 2013
5) not when it's a troll who added nothing constructively0 -

See post 29, on 'how to demolish a troll (you) in 5 easy steps
I spoke to a chartered accountant friend of mine a few years ago & because my income & expenses were straightforward, suggested no need for paying for one
Not everyone needs one. Get that crap out your head.
My error was one simple one
Ps- the one time I paid peanuts (250) for one, I got a monkey company. To get decent ones, you need to pay more I've learned. For 250 they just did the calculation. Sounds like you pay the same, from one monkey to another eh0 -

1 Niow there's gratitude for you.
2. One error in a calculation, that's only maths, unforgivable. It's all the
ability to produce accounts prior to the calculation.
3. You were blaming the accountant.
4. My point entirely, glad you agree.
5. Now that's a value judgement I wouldn't care to make and will get your post deleted. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -

That's a very unpleasant post. People on here have given advice (for free) and you can only be insulting in response? No need for that.0 -
BoP will now interpret for the hard of reading.
OP, in a last gasp attempt to try and sort their tax out prior to the deadline refused help at the start of this thread, such as suggesting they get an accountant. Making not enough money, or profit, in one tax year, then exceding expectations, suddenly and without proper prior planning, was hit with a tax bill.
Not being able to do simple arithmatic, OP then paid the tax man too much of his money. He came omn here for advise. it was given in post #3
Everyone who advised him, is considered to be a troll. Here endeth today's lesson0 -

It was fairly obvious to anyone with reasonable experience what had happened - hence my opening question in post 4. It took until post 17 to even get that information. Happy to help but half wondering why I bothered. There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who do not. :doh:0 -
