PPI - Tiny Computers / Lombard Tricity Finance 1999

Is it still possible to commence PPI reclaim from 1999? If so, I need some advice with regards these circumstances:
I bought a computer from Tiny Computers (now no longer) in 1998 with payment commencing in 1999 over the next 3 years. I still have the original paperwork (Credit Agreement) that clearly shows PPI was taken.
The finance was provided by First National Tricity Finance, an Abbey National Group, which I believe are part of Santander?
Is it possible to claim this far back if, who?

It's not a claim, you make a complaint to whoever sold you the policy, stating why you believe it was mis-sold. Did Tiny sell it to you?0

Tiny sold it (computer & insurance) to me and I repaid Lombard/Tricity Finance a year later for the next three years.
I was told that because the job I have I had to have insurance in case I lost my job thru injury etc.0 -
I am afraid your complaint is against Tiny. However, in 1998 (when it was sold) there was no regulation of general insurance and so FOS has no jurisdiction over it.
In theory you could try going to court but that has generally been unsuccessful with PPI and, as it is more than 15 years ago, the other side can use Section 14B of the Limitation Act 1980 to defend itself.
Finally, as Tiny no longer exists, there is nobody to complain to.0 -

You'd need comprehensive documentation from your own archive to stand any chance at all. As it is, you don't even know for sure that there was a PPI policy.0
