I guess it then comes down to which you desire most...being debt free or the patter of tiny feet and still in debt in 5 years...

The plan would still be to continue paying the dmp

You would need a plan for return to work/childcare etc...don't want to put you off but children are an expensive business...!
    Good luck with your journey.

That may be the plan, but the cost or raising a baby could easily wipe out most (if not all) of the £280pm you are allowing for the DMP.

As Puzzcan said, children are the most expensive thing you will ever do.

Have you seen the price of baby milk, nappies, baby clothes etc.

Then there's presents (Christmas and Birthdays), days out, holidays, etc.

You will need a cot, a pram, a pushchair and (if you have a car) a child seat and booster cushion.

Then there's school uniforms, gym kit, school dinners.

How much do you imagine that lot (and more) will leave, from the £280pm?

Pounds is the balance of cc one of them
  • If it's only £79 then, yes, pay it off.

One less debt to think about.

Assuming you are setting up the dmp and haven't yet entered into it and have the available money then I would pay it. Don't think you would get a lower settlement unless it's gone to a dca. You could always ask your dmp company.
