TV broke after only 14 months

My Finlux TV went kaput after only 14 months and I contacted Groupon as they were the retailer. They kindly informed me to contact the manufacturer, who themselves said that as I hadn't purchased an extended warranty, I wasn't entitled to have my TV repaired unless I paid for it. They gave me the number of their repair agents, who I phoned to make enquiries of, but was told that as the TV was bigger than a certain size, they wouldn't repair it anyway. According to The Sale of Goods Act 1979, Goods should last a REASONABLE length of time, how do I get them to accept that ? Can anyone advise me what to do next?

You cant get the manufacturer to accept it, they only have to cover the warranty and what ever rules they impose on it. If they have refused, and its inline with their T&C then theres nothing more you can do
if you want a remedy, you will need to take it up with the retailer, as they are the ones responsible under SOGA.
As its over 6 months old, you may have to prove that the fault is inherent by getting an independent report0
