GE Money

Options
Hi All

I am a newbie to MSE and claiming PPI!! I'm hoping some of you wise people can help me? I'm claiming PPI for Santander for a loan I had and in the process of waiting for the final outcome! I am also starting a claim for capital one too.

My question is I had a store card back in 2005 for Debenhams, Topshop etc and this was issued by GE Capital Bank LTD.

Could anyone tell me who took over GE Capital Bank LTD? I have heard it was Santander? Also does anyone have the address of where I can claim PPI from GE CAPITAL BANK LTD so I can get my claim started? If GE Capital Bank were taken over by Santander can I still claim for PPI from them for the store card as I'm already claiming from Santander for a previous loan I had with Abbey?

Any help or advice really appreciated.:)

You complain to the seller in a PPI mis-selling complaint, not the provider. Any complaints go to the shops who sold you the cards. Be aware pre- January 2005 complaints are pre-regulation and so do not have to be considered.

Chances are the shops will reject your complaints, so when you get a final response fill in a fresh ppi questionnaire for each store card and send them to Genworth Insurance in London (the underwriter) who are dealing with GE Capital, now Santander Cards, rejected complaints.
  • Top Shop is Arcadia. They were Appointed Representatives of Santander Cards UK Limited from 14 January 2005 to 5 May 2011.

If you took out the insurance in that period, Santander must address your complaint. Before then and Arcadia must. However, as it was never directly regulated by the FSA, FOS will have no jurisdiction over it.
