Remote Temperature Monitoring / Network / Android - Advice on solution!

has anyone got any experience of remote temperature monitoring via a network and whats the most cost effective way of getting that to be read and to alarm on, ideally with Android software?

You can pick up usb thermometers for around £10 or so.
Plug it into a PC and you usually get monitoring software that may have a web front end that you can access remotely on any device.Laters

Alternatively, use a Raspberry Pi and a load of Dallis/Maxim one-wire stuff. If you're going to roll it yourself, that is.0
