Maybe ignorant is more accurate.0 -

Thanks, but I've got more to do than read through instructions, you obviously know what I mean or you wouldn't have bothered replying. Have a nice day.0 -
thanks for the replies.
Although I am contracted to work Mondays I have been told I will get my bank holidays off and then my 20 days leave.
And the government wonder why mums do not want to go back to work. With 3 kids and only 20 days holiday it is going to be hard but oh well should have found out holiday entitlement first!
You are very lucky in that envoirment to get those bank holidays off. Do check if its paid or unpaid though.Back on the trains again!0 -
I have always been very fortunate with previous jobs where I think the lowest amount of holiday I ever received was 25 days plus bank holidays.
I have never worked in a retail environment before and after being out of work for over 2 years after maternity and then being made redundant I have had to move into a work environment I am not familiar with.
Children or no Children I think 20 days (that are of your choosing) are pretty mean but as I said I should have checked all this but was just so happy to get a job!0 -

The law allows for no days of your choosing.
Having 20 of the 28 statuary minimum available to choose is generous and in an environment that works BH in practice up to the 28(or more if employer gives them) will be flexible subject to the contractual approvals.0
