Cheapest way to replace a lost share certificate

You don't say which company it is but unless you are in a hurry one option is simply to wait. Listed companies frequently re-structure in some way (M&A, dilution etc) in which event you will be issued with a new share certificate for free.0

Thanks freecall, I wondered if it would be cheaper to go through the registrar direct rather than the company itself. I'm not sure if MSE allows companies to be named but it's Standard Life.0

Ah, Standard Life is probably one of the least likely to dilute or reissue shares. If it had been one of the energy companies on the other had, they seem to restructure their shareholdings every couple of years.
If you want to get new certificates (and pay for them - you probably have no choice) then you will have to go through the Registrar. They are used to doing this sort of thing however so it should all be straightforward.0 -
Thanks Freecall.0
