Can anyone tell me why threads get moved from main board to regular board?

It is valid to post a weekly as a new comp each week (but not a daily).
Unfortunately, once it is posted in regulars, posting on the main board is effectively a dupe and it will probably be merged into the one on regulars. (I think this is what happened with Quizonaut comp).0 -

Unless it's the Classic FM Daily Quiz. Pretty much the same as Radio Caroline. Daily question with a weekly prize but it is posted daily on the main board.
There's always something that gets away with breaking rules.0 -

But surely the rules are that everything is posted on the main board - i thought that is what was agreed.
I didn't realize there were still some competitions in the weekly section that were not being posted on the main board!0 -

That is just confusing - i thought the 2 threads were separate (the weeklies/dailies and the main board) so why anything is merged is beyond me. Surely anyone who uses the weekly/daily board would know they were on the main board as well, seeing that far more people use the main board than any of the side boards.0 -

I didn't realise that either, I wish there was some consistency with these. Surely everything should be on the main board?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I didn't realize there were still some competitions in the weekly section that were not being posted on the main board! All comps except the following should be posted on the main board:
1) Ongoing Once Only Comps -These are the ongoing comps with no overall end date where you can only enter once.
A typical comp would be one that may run for years with a prize every week/month for new newsletter subscribers where existing subscribers can not enter again. Sometimes people may be entered in just the comp for the week/month they sign up, and sometimes they are entered automatically in every draw after they have signed up.
2) Ongoing Regulars - These are ongoing weekly or daily comps with no overall end date.
Some of these run for years - examples include
a) Radio Caroline 60 second quiz - running daily for over 3 years
b) Honeybuns - running weekly on Tuesdays for over 2 years
In both cases, if an overall end date for the promotion is known then it should be posted on the main board and linked to the appropriate sticky.
With the Theatre Direct Comp you posted, as there is no overall end date known, the correct place for it is on the regulars board. If the E: 31/12 was genuine, then the correct place for it is on the main board.
That is how I understood it had been agreed but as there are no specific laid down rules stated anywhere, anything anyone says can be disputed or disagreed with.0 -
I sort of thought it ran as a dual way of spotting ie it's on the main board, a link was placed on the regular board linking back to the main board, then if someone's working the regular board they bump the main board when a new week as started. But i know see that wasn't the case.0
