Can anyone tell me why threads get moved from main board to regular board?

I posted this on the main board with an end date of 31/12 and weekly in the title. It was kindly updated to be added to regular board, but the whole thread has been moved from the main board to the regular board, if I am reading it correctly.
I thought everything had to be on the main board.
Sorry struggling to understand what is ment to happen.

I'm with you, I thought that like the dailies, everything was on the main board and just linked to from the regulars?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

All comps except the following should be posted on the main board:
1) Ongoing Once Only Comps -These are the ongoing comps with no overall end date where you can only enter once.
A typical comp would be one that may run for years with a prize every week/month for new newsletter subscribers where existing subscribers can not enter again. Sometimes people may be entered in just the comp for the week/month they sign up, and sometimes they are entered automatically in every draw after they have signed up.
2) Ongoing Regulars - These are ongoing weekly or daily comps with no overall end date.
Some of these run for years - examples include
a) Radio Caroline 60 second quiz - running daily for over 3 years
b) Honeybuns - running weekly on Tuesdays for over 2 years
In both cases, if an overall end date for the promotion is known then it should be posted on the main board and linked to the appropriate sticky.
With the Theatre Direct Comp you posted, as there is no overall end date known, the correct place for it is on the regulars board. If the E: 31/12 was genuine, then the correct place for it is on the main board.0 -

I had that happen to me recently too with the Quizonaut one, I reposted it on main board and it got merged back into regs thread (off of the main board), I give up these days#StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year0 -
Each competition has a different tweet and different prize, I'd treat each one as a stand alone competition and not mention "weekly".
(If an overall end-date is not stated then each week could be the last)0 -
So then if in this case I didn't know end date so put 31/12 it should go on the regular board and not the main board. Then does that mean each week it should be posted on the main board with an end date for that one prize?
I get so confused, there's loads that run week in week out that seem to be posted as individual comps each week. Eg boohoo win a bag, hobbs win your fashion pick.
Edit cross posted with above reply.0 -

From the BIG discussion and revised arrangements a couple of years ago, it was decided as One-Eye describes above. (The Radio Caroline comp used to be on the main board but I ended the original thread and raised the new one on Regs after this decision. It draws far fewer "thanks" now than it used to.) It was also said that the post in Regs should be updated each week with the new prize and link. At the same time a post could be made on the main board each week, linking to the thread in regs but NOT including a direct link to the comp (so as to avoid any chance of duplicate entries).
Perhaps it is also worth noting that, with long running weekly comps
with a known overall end date, it was agreed that these would go on the main board but it was left to the poster to decide how they wished to post it.
They could either use the ultimate end date and update the thread weekly OR raise a new post each week with the end of that week as the end date.
These agreed methods of posting were at one time posted as a sticky on the main board - It's a pity that the sticky "disappeared".0
