I've apologised, and referenced. Any more and you will be reported.

Go ahead and report people for pointing out your mistake. Nobody has yet reported YOU for being rude when YOU are the one who gave incorrect information.

Hi, I am 23, I work for sainsbury's, according to the handbook, if you work more than 4 and a half hours, you are entiltled to a 15 minute break, UNPAID.

I went for my hearing the other day, told them want it adjourned because I wanted my union rep.

They didn't seem to happy about it. Perhaps I am going to get sacked for it, but will go through the correct legal channels to do it. So I will know this time next week.

Why work the half hour? You should either work 4hrs or 5hrs according to contract. I'm guessing the half hour is overtime?

They probably weren't happy that they had convened a hearing when you could have let them know that it wasn't convenient for your rep.

The risks are crush injuries to you or other people, but it's not hard to work out how to avoid that even without training, but ask formally for a copy of risk assessments on that task, and training. If they don't have a risk assessment, ask if you can participate in it with a H&S person, as you'd love to help out like that. Personally, I've always given a copy of the latest risk assessment when I've had people trained for or assigned to a new job, and told them to come back in an hour with 3 sensible questions. Then I test them on my responsibilities, and tell them they are to pull me up on it if I forget.
As a manager, you have to be 2 steps ahead of staff who don't care. Only 1 step ahead and they'll crush you with the trolley.

Ask for steel toe cap boots with antislip soles. Cost about £15. If they don't buy them, go to screw fix and buy some yourself. No point in loosing toes.

Crush injury is one of the risks associated with this kind of work. But there are others and the employer should provide suitable training and safety equipment.

But you don't work more than four and a half hours - you work four and a half hours.

You need to delete your employers name. You can easily be identified from what you have written.

sorry, if you work 4 and hour hours, OR more, then you are entitled to a break.

Again, I don't mean to be nasty, but I have stated I was wrong, and apologised. So please stop with the vile nasty stuff you are spouting - it is adding NOTHING to the OP's post.

I've even given the source for the information in case the OP needs it. If you carry on, you will be reported.
What do you mean? If I carry on you will report me!

    What for?

    Vile nasty stuff? Good grief!

I didn't read the rest of the thread I just quoted what you had said.
